I am so excited to share this luxury Emerald and Gold shoot with you. I worked on this shoot this summer and it is now featured in You & Your Wedding Magazine! Greenery colour schemes have been sooo popular this year, so we have taken this trend a step further! Set in the beautiful countryside of Kent, Amanda captured the beautiful woodlands, lakeside and hunting lodge of the Kentfield Country Estate, perfectly. What was the inspiration for this shoot? How would I describe the theme and look? Luxurious yet natural, opulent yet fresh – this shoot at the stunning Kentfield estate has it all. The wonder of the outdoors and the beauty of nature with ancient, native woodlands and a dreamy lake providing the fabulous backdrop influenced the look and feel of the shoot. The team was inspired to create something that avoided the typical ‘rustic’ look and instead was sensuous, rich and incredibly indulgent. What palette did I choose to work with and why? The colour palette for the shoot is rooted in this years greenery trend, emerald and gold playing the starring roles! Both tones are perfect for representing both luxury and organic beauty. The white compliments these colours perfectly, bringing both opulence and purity into the colour scheme. How did I choose the location, and what did it add to the ambience of the shoot? Kentfield was the most fitting location for the shoot. This private estate sits on the edge of the North Downs and is alive with pasture, wildflower meadows and native woodlands. The 4-acre lake is such a fantastic setting and the fact that the venue is also a working estate that farms in a sympathetic way, producing food of the finest quality also fitted the shoot brief to perfection. Which flowers did you use and how did they contribute to the look? The flowers for the shoot included the most luxurious seasonal blooms including peonies, anemones, roses and lilies plus plenty of bold greenery. Everything was opulent in the extreme with flowers cascading from bowls across tabletops and tumbling from tall glass candelabras that had been wrapped in ribbon to match the colour palette. What do I think are the standout elements of this shoot/your personal favourite details, and why? When it comes to standout elements, the amazing geode cake has to top the list. The rich emerald interior, edged with gold would make a wedding centrepiece that guests would never forget. What are my best styling tips for brides to steal from this shoot? Any bride looking for styling tips will have lots to choose from. This shoot proves just how chic country settings can be. The bold yet traditional stationery is the perfect starting point for the day and this is then continued with all those expected wedding elements being given an extra twist or flourish. Add a slick of gold to the top of a macaron, add another tier to a wedding cake, hire in luxurious chair or flatware to add another dimension to a bare table… The choice is yours! We were incredibly lucky that the snowbells in the woods , that only make a rare appearance for a few days a year, were blossoming! This allowed us to photograph our stunning bride amongst them for you as in the picture below. All this wouldn't have been possible without the amazing team I worked with on the day.
